I'm amazed at the differences between varieties of rices. They all cook up so differently and each is wonderful in different dishes.

Someone asked about plums. One of my favorite things to do with them is stuff them with goat cheese, wrap them in bacon, and grill them. The sweet/smoky/savory combination is lovely.

During the asparagus season, members are requested not to relieve themselves in the waste baskets.

One my favorite things to do with the smallerprune plums is to pit them and then put about a teaspoon of sugar and cinnamon in the cavity. You the wrap the plum in what amounts to squares of gnocchi to form a ball. Cook the cannonballs in simmering water until they're done. Brown breadcrumbs in butter and shake them gently in a pan to coat the dumplings. Sprinkle with more sugar and cinnamon and serve warm.
